The vehicle sits in Bergenfield, New Jersey, giving crews working in the area a ready option for productions that need a classic convertible from the late 1970s. Spotlight on this 1979 VW Beetle Convertible

The listing shows a 1979 VW Super Beetle Convertible finished in black with a matching black interior. The soft top is also black, and the car carries the two-door convertible body style. Details from the listing note the gasoline engine and manual transmission, along with the Super Beetle trim package. These elements give the vehicle a straightforward appearance that fits many 1970s-era scenes without drawing extra attention.

Crews can review the full set of photos on the USA Movie Cars site to judge how the black finish and convertible roof will read on camera. The location in Bergenfield, New Jersey places the car within easy reach of productions filming in northern New Jersey or the greater New York metro region. Location managers often look for vehicles that can be moved quickly between base camp and set, and this listing supplies that practical detail up front.

Cars and Casting and the New Jersey Picture Car Market

Cars and Casting works with USA Movie Cars to surface vehicles listed on the national network and connect them to regional productions. The 1979 VW Beetle Convertible in Bergenfield, New Jersey sits within that system, so producers can search state-specific terms like New Jersey film car or New Jersey movie car and still reach the same national inventory. USA Movie Cars maintains relationships with state picture-car sites such as New Jersey Picture Cars to reduce the time crews spend hunting for local vehicles.

This approach helps both independent filmmakers and larger commercial shoots that need reliable options without shipping cars from out of state. When a production is already based in Bergenfield or nearby towns, having a convertible already in the area cuts transport costs and simplifies insurance paperwork. The network structure keeps those local advantages visible to anyone searching on Cars and Casting.

History of the 1979 VW Beetle Convertible

The 1979 model year marked one of the final runs for the Super Beetle Convertible before the body style transitioned in later decades. The convertible version offered an open-air layout on the longer Super Beetle platform, which gave it a slightly different profile than the standard Beetle. Many productions set in the late 1970s use these cars to establish everyday street scenes or to place a character behind the wheel of an affordable, recognizable import.

The black exterior and black interior combination shown in the listing matches a common factory appearance for that year. Producers working on period pieces often favor these convertibles because the roof can be raised or lowered depending on the shot, and the overall shape remains familiar to audiences. The listing supplies the basic year, make, model, and color information that crews need to decide whether the vehicle fits the visual tone of a project.

New Jersey Picture Car Rental Uses

Productions filming in New Jersey can place this convertible in background traffic or park it in front of a house to add texture to a residential street. The 1970s styling works for scenes set during that decade, and the convertible top allows quick changes between open and closed looks for different lighting conditions. Still photographers and music video crews have used similar Beetles for fashion shoots or album art that needs a vintage car as a prop.

Event planners and branded content teams sometimes request classic convertibles for photo backdrops or product launches. Because the car is already in Bergenfield, New Jersey, it can reach sets in Bergen County or travel into New York City without long hauls. The listing does not include rental rates or availability dates, so producers contact USA Movie Cars directly to discuss fit and scheduling.
